Introduction

In the last 12 months, my Amazon FBA business has done over $1.2 million in sales. As you can see from my main account, I’ve made over $700,000, and my second account has done just over $475,000. Today, I’m going to break down the easiest way to do Amazon FBA product research. This is a complete A to Z master class when it comes to Amazon FBA product research, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

The Importance of Product Research

Product research is the make or break of your Amazon FBA business. If you do this part wrong, you will lose, fail, and be throwing money down the drain. This is where we want to make sure we get this part right, and the first thing that we need is a criteria for a winning product.

Criteria for a Winning Product

To find a winning product, we need to have a set of criteria that we can use to filter out the bad products and find the good ones. I have a winning criteria list that breaks down 10 criteria points of what makes a good product and what makes a bad product. Once we have that criteria, we’re going to come to a tool called Helium 10.

Using Helium 10 for Product Research

Helium 10 is a powerful tool that can help you find winning products for your Amazon FBA business. I have a link down below where you guys can get 20% off for 6 months, and this tool alone is going to pay for itself literally 100x.

The Blackbox Tool

The Blackbox tool is where we’re going to find our product ideas. We’re going to use the keywords tab, which is my preference and my favorite. This tool is going to allow you to reverse engineer the equation of what makes a good product.

The Keywords Tab

The keywords tab is where we’re going to find the search volume for specific keywords on Amazon. This is straight gold and the reason why Amazon is just unbelievable and the opportunity is through the roof. We want to find a product that is being searched at least 10,000 times plus per month.

Search Volume

Search volume means how many times people are searching for specific keywords on Amazon. This is where we can find what products people are searching for. If we know they’re searching for it, they want to buy it. If they want to buy it, we can cash in on those profits.

Monthly Revenue

If a product has good search volume, we know that the revenue is going to follow. We want products that are doing at least five figures per month in sales.

Price Point

For me, I’m going to be focusing on products that are a little bit more expensive. The cheaper end products just get destroyed, and the competition is brutal. I’m going to look at price points at $40 minimum and $70 maximum.

Review Count

The review count is where we can actually see where the competition is going to be. The more reviews a seller has, the more likely they’re going to crush you. We want to look at review count and say max review count of 300.

Review Rating

This is a golden nugget for you guys. This is where you want to go in and have the max of less than 4.5 stars. We’re looking for products that have holes in the market, and if they have problems, that means we can be the problem solver. If we’re the problem solver, we’re going to crush our competition because our product is better than their product.

Category Selection

The category for me personally is what are you interested in? What do you like to do? That would be kind of the first starting point. The next thing that you need to consider is what categories to avoid. There are certain categories that you can’t sell in, and there are certain categories that are a little bit more difficult to even get approved to sell in.

Verifying Product Potential

Once we have our product ideas, we need to verify that they have potential. We’re going to use Helium 10 to do this. We’re going to use the Chrome extension, and we’re going to look at the search volume, monthly revenue, price point, review count, and review rating.

Finding Products with Holes in the Market

Finding products with holes in the market is where we can really make a difference. We’re looking for products that have problems, and if we can solve those problems, we’re going to crush our competition.

Conclusion

In conclusion, product research is the make or break of your Amazon FBA business. We need to have a set of criteria that we can use to filter out the bad products and find the good ones. We’re going to use Helium 10 to find our product ideas, and we’re going to verify that they have potential. If we can find products with holes in the market and solve those problems, we’re going to crush our competition.
